Ignition, last part: theme locked

Well, the lock is fixed at last, and I'm excited.
I had some trouble to put the replacement lock in the steering column housing.

Before I mentioned the little disc had to be in the proper position to put in the ignition lock. Now it turned out the steering wwheel was now locked and I couldn't get it out with the key. Somewhere there was a missing connection between the key-lock and the steering lock.

The trick was I should have removed the complete housing with a nut further away, near the column. Then the complete housing had come off and I wouldn't have had any trouble putting back the pin in the hole.

The pin on the right side of the picture had to be put in a hole in the housing of the ignition lock.
That couldn't work. The pin is essential to unlock the steering lock when set.

The lock housing has to be removed with the second, larger nut just besides the axis of the steering clolumn...

.. nut removal releases the complet housing. I was amazed to see the date on thsi tube, I had it removed in august 2012 but didn't remember it.

The housing is out, now release the cable connection deep under the steering column.

The cable has to be fiddled out of the small hole in the column attachement

The second part, the lower of the lock with on top the hole to put in the pin in the first picture.

Thie hole now in full view

Put the pin in the hole...

... see for the right connection with the little disc in the lower side of the lock (look here).
Be aware of the fact there are two holes and two pins, one bigger and one smaller. Fit it right!

The proper connection of hole and disc make a complete lock to put back in the housing cylinder.

Job done! Ready to fit in the car.
Oh, did I mention the key still has to be in the on-position in the lock?

Thei
